Tuesday, 5.15.12...

Last night, while watching DVR'd shows, I was just playing around with my hair...WAIT!  Actually, let me back up a bit...

So, just a little bit of background since my last couple of posts.  As I mentioned, I had "hair day" on the 8th, and that day, I styled my hair into a 'fro hawk, that would allow me to try some different variations over the next week or so.  I have taken pics, but just haven't posted them because I have been TRYING to edit a video to include that process, but have run into a "voiceover" issue with the audio of the application I'm using!  *big sigh*.   I've been working on this video off and one since last week, but HOPEFULLY, I'll get the issue resolved today, and get it posted.

I say all that to say, the pics I'm about to post are just another variation of the 'fro hawk I created last week...

K, back to my initial thought...last night, while watching TV, I was just playing around with my hair (AS.USUAL) and decided I needed to "refresh" the flat-twists (they had become a lil fuzzy and loose).  As I finished each flat-twist, instead of leaving the ends "free", I twisted them into bantu knots, primarily just to keep them in place.  BUT, when I finished, I was like "hmmm", I think I could actually incorporate this into another style!  The middle section of my hair was still in loose two-strand twists, so I just put it into a ponytail, oiled my scalp and ends, then wrapped it up (satin scarf, then covered with a bonnet) for the night.

Today, has pretty much been a lazy day and I knew I had no plans of going anywhere, but a few minutes ago, I decided to get out of lazy mode and get showered, throw on some clothes, then start playing around in the mirror for a couple of minutes to see what I could create with this bantu knot 'fro hawk.

et VOILA!  This is what I came up with:

Before I untwisted the two-strands...
Back view of Bantu knots...

After...twist-out in middle section, but flipped to left side...
Side views of left side...

Views of right side...Note: because this is a "casual" day, didn't bother "tightening up the edges!  LOL

Showing the "slightly" stretched length...
Left side...
Whatcha think?  I think it's a cute little "casual" style.  I know if somebody called me for an interview, let's say, tomorrow, this would NOT be the 'do I'd rock!  LOL  But, I think it's kinda cool.  If I leave the twist-out be for a few days, it will get "poofier" and the "hawk" will stand up more and look much fuller.  Depending on what I have going on this week (still VERY active on the job search), I just may leave it like this to see how it progresses.

In the meantime, let me get back to this darn video!!  *siiiiigh*  I love technology and all, but it sometimes does not play well with my patience!  ;)
