|33| "BetYou'reWonderin'WhatHappened" UPDATE...

Sunday, 5.12.12...

Sooooooo, bet you're wondering what happened with that "NO HEAT Straightening Strand Test", huh?  Well, I am, too!!  LOL

In all seriousness, though, when I posted that, I had every intention of doing so the following day or two.  However, as the week quickly progressed, I realized two things:  1) when I did make an attempt to figure out the method I was going to use, I couldn't figure out how to secure my hair TIGHTLY to the plastic magnetic ("mag") roller (I have NO idea why it's called "magnetic"!) and I got a bit discouraged;  and 2) it had been a LONG time since I had cleaned my hair.  So along with the fact I was already a bit frustrated, I just decided to wait until I co-washed my hair, to ensure I could get the best possible results.

Well, it's now a few days later since I co-washed, (and deep-conditioned/conditioned/ACV rinsed/moisturized), and I still have yet to follow-through with the strand test.  I'll be perfectly honest, I've had "mag" rollers, to include the metal clips and large hairpins, in my hair accessories supply since my days of relaxed hair, but never used them!  And now, I think I've realized why...I just can't figure out how make them work on my hair!  For this "experiment", I did go buy some smaller ones
(<-------) because I knew my current hair length would not work with the larger ones I already had.  I was only testing it on dry (and VERY dirty) hair at the time, but even with the metal clips and hairpins, they just weren't holding my hair as tightly as I would like them to be, which made me doubt whether the "strand test" would really turn out the way I am envisioning it should.  Keep in mind, I hadn't applied the homemade setting lotion I'm planning to mix, but I know if I couldn't even secure my hair to the roller in a dry state, it will be a complete FAIL when it's wet!  Whattodooooooo, whattodo?!

So, that's where I am.  In order to stretch my hair to a less coiled state, I need a large roller, AND I need something to help tightly secure the ends of my hair to the roller and at the root once it's rolled.

Sounded like a good idea at the time, but looks like I have some more researchin' & thinkin' to do to make this happen. OR, I can just go back to my "what'sthepointofembracingtheprocessofbeingnatural, ifit'sstraight" stance!  Yep, that pretty much sums it up for me!
